"Kyz Kuu" is a horse game. Volga Bulgars have forgotten "Kyz Kuu" tradition, however, it has survived to this day among the people living in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
"Kyz Kuu" is translated as "girl chasing". The game starts with a horseman and a young woman taking horses onto the track. The young woman moves away from her companion 12-15 meters ahead, then the judge gives a signal, and the race starts. During the distance of about 300-400 meters, the young man must catch his companion, and if he does, he becomes entitled to embrace and kiss the girl on the go. After that, young people exchange their roles. The young man is given a head start of 12-15 meters, and his companion remains behind. At the judge’s signal, the chase starts, and if the girl overtakes the young man, she has a right to hit him with a whip.
If the young people fail to catch each other, they lose their chance to be together. In case they could do it, the young man decides, whether the young woman stays with him or not. In case of affirmative reply, the wedding is made on the same day.

Соңгы боз агып киткәндә,

Baradj is a musical band from Kazan (Tatarstan, Russian Federation) performing a unique genre. The band positions itself as bulgar folk-metal (tatar ethnic metal), and in addition, they are the pioneers of post-folk-metal.
Streamlining their post-metal sprawl through a sharper melodic focus, the Scottish juggernauts' third LP is labyrinthine yet approachable. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 25, 2024
